Russia Outlines Plans if Suppliers from Turkey and Iran Fail to Adjust

The declining volumes of lemons, mandarins, peppers, grapes, and pomegranates supplied to Russia from Turkey and Iran can be compensated by imports from other countries. Dmitri Leonov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of "Rusprodsoyuz," announced this, as reported by TASS.

"If the suppliers from Turkey and Iran do not adjust, the missing volumes of supplies can be filled with imports from other countries," he stated. Earlier, "Rospotrebnadzor" reported that the agency had suspended the imports of hazardous products from 33 manufacturers in Turkey and Iran to Russia.

As alternative options, Leonov pointed out that for mandarin supplies, potential sources could include the People's Republic of China, Morocco, and Egypt; Argentina and the People's Republic of China could be sources for lemons; Uzbekistan and Moldova for grapes; while Azerbaijan, Egypt, Uzbekistan, and Abkhazia could supply pomegranates. For peppers, potential suppliers mentioned were China and Armenia.
