I Don’t Know What the Purpose of the Grand Opening and Broadcast Was: Goris Deputy Mayor on Azerbaijani Gas Station
A deputy mayor of Goris, Karen Kocharyan, commented on the recent opening of an Azerbaijani SOCAR gas station in the administrative area of the village of Vorotan along the Goris-Kapan road, stating, “That area is not under our control, and we can't do anything.”
Kocharyan remarked that the Armenian side does not carry out traffic through that section, and he personally does not know the purpose behind the gas station's construction. Responding to concerns that the Azerbaijani side is consolidating in areas occupied by Armenia and incurring substantial expenses, Kocharyan expressed uncertainty about future developments, saying, “I don’t know why they built that gas station, what was the purpose of such a grand opening and broadcast.”
It is noteworthy that according to Azerbaijani media reports, the opening ceremony was attended by the president of the SOCAR company.
