Russian Federation Council Regrets Georgia's Withdrawal from the '3+3' Format
The Chairman of the International Committee of the Federation Council of Russia, Grigory Karasin, expressed regret over Georgia's decision to withdraw from participating in the inaugural meeting of the '3+3' (Azerbaijan-Armenia-Georgia + Russia-Iran-Turkey) regional consulting mechanism.
“Georgia's refusal to participate in the inaugural meeting of the '3+3' regional consulting mechanism provides grounds for regret. We are ready to discuss all controversial issues, seek topics of common interest, and combine efforts in the economic and humanitarian sectors despite existing disagreements,” Karasin stated during a meeting with Switzerland's Ambassador to Russia, Christina Marti Lang.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced during a press conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian that the initiative to establish the '3+3' format was discussed.
