Armenian Ambassador in France 'Liked Azerbaijani Propaganda Collage Celebrating the Capture of Shushi', Says Karen Vrtanesyan
Karen Vrtanesyan, the coordinator of the specialized website "Razminfo," wrote on his Facebook page: "Meet Vigen Chitaryan. He is a writer with an Armenian surname, a political scientist, and also someone who lectured at Baku's ADA University in April 2021. Hours ago, he took a collage from an Azerbaijani photographer, which includes a photo from 1992 of Shushi, which was not yet liberated, followed by a 2020 photo of the now occupied Shushi, featuring Azerbaijani soldiers. It is an obvious propaganda photo that celebrates the 'victory of Azerbaijani military spirit.' ... and wrote praising words, stating that 'Reza is a true artist who holds a camera, but with the effect of a Kalashnikov.'
However, what is important here is not that some immoral figure with an Armenian surname is lecturing for a university associated with the Aliyevs or spreading Azerbaijani propaganda. What matters is that the Armenian Ambassador to France, Hasmik Tolmajyan, has liked this post celebrating the capture of Shushi. There are two options: either the ambassador did not understand what she was liking (which is very, very bad), or she understood and liked it anyway (which is simply terrible). In any case, her like still remains under this disgraceful collage hours later.
All screenshots are attached to the post.
P.S. Later, Chitaryan wrote a convoluted message claiming that he meant to imply that the Azerbaijani photographer is a propagandist, but it is very difficult to understand that from his post. This is not criticism; it's more of a friendly, even affectionate, teasing. And if it truly is an issue of 'expressing oneself incorrectly,' he could have deleted the post and apologized after the reactions. In any case, he responds much more harshly to his critics than to the Azerbaijani war propagandist."
