Public Turns to Enemy Information Sources Due to Lack of Information, Gegham Manukyan on the MoD

For a considerable time now, various sections of the frontline have been witnessing military operations, and at the same time, an unprecedented phenomenon is occurring in Armenia's defense sector. This was stated by Gegham Manukyan, a member of the 'Armenia' faction, during a special session of the Defense and Security Committee.

"The public is being deprived of the opportunity to receive complete information. I am confident that everyone understands the dangers when the public, in the absence of information, turns to the information sources of hostile states. However, this time yet another unprecedented situation has been recorded: for the first time in its history, the Ministry of Defense officially informs the public through a press release that there are casualties, but does not disclose the number of casualties or their names. As a result, there is a terrifying emotional situation among the public, especially among the parents of servicemen serving on the frontline," said Manukyan.

Manukyan recalled that a ruling party MP spoke from the parliamentary podium about the number of casualties, which was later not confirmed. "Exact numbers have been published through media outlets affiliated with the government, creating an unclear and confusing situation. I believe the committee chairman should have organized a special session specifically to discuss these issues. It is strange to come and discuss this issue under these circumstances," stated Gegham Manukyan.
