«Very Dangerous Road... Such Attempts Must Be Halted» - Lavrov on OSCE Countries
The crisis of trust among the participating states of the OSCE is deepening. This was announced by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during a press conference following negotiations with the current OSCE Chairperson, Sweden's Foreign Minister Ann Linde, reported TASS.
The minister emphasized that attempts to use the OSCE to intervene in the internal affairs of countries represent a "very dangerous road." "These attempts must be halted," Lavrov stated.
Lavrov also pointed out certain "flaws" in the current model of the organization's operations. "Due to its wide geographical reach, inclusive coverage, and rules of consensus, the organization can actually play a significant role in searching for collective responses to common challenges and threats. In order to activate this very important unifying potential, the OSCE needs to enhance the effectiveness of its institutions, its field presence, and rectify certain imbalances in its activities—both geographical and thematic," said the Russian foreign minister.
