VIDEO: Pashinyan Responds to Allegations of Surrendering Syunik Province

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan delivered a speech during a fundraising evening organized by the "Civil Contract" party in connection with the local government elections campaign.

Pashinyan addressed the accusations regarding the surrender of Syunik Province. “Today, we are told that we are handing over Syunik piece by piece. Let's look at what the surrender of Syunik means. As of 2018, only 4 percent of preschool-aged children in Syunik had the opportunity to attend kindergartens and pre-school institutions. This is what the surrender of Syunik looks like,” he stated.

He also noted that in 2018, the province had the highest number of schools with fewer than 100 students. “In just one community in Syunik, the government allocates 9 billion drams to involve all children in the educational process,” he added.

The Prime Minister emphasized that “today, security is our most vulnerable point.”
