How are you, Onik... Alen Ghevondyan
Political analyst Alen Ghevondyan addressed the former Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Onik Gasparyan, in a Facebook post, inquired about his well-being. It is worth noting that Onik Gasparyan was in the position of Chief of Staff when he demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, subsequently was dismissed, and stopped speaking publicly.
“Onik, how are you... It was clearly explained to you what you should do to save the country. You were thinking that your mistakes during the war might lead to a criminal case, that you would end up in prison. The general is afraid to take steps to save the country; what, could he be freed in the event of failure? The nation swore by your name. You knew that well. The general should fear dishonor, not imprisonment. Onik, you had a chance to save the country from the government. Even Abazyan would not have kept this up. And you did not do that.
Moreover, to completely clear yourself, you could have resulted in their de-powering, and then announce that a commission would be established to investigate the mistakes of the war, which would also examine your errors, and you were ready to bear responsibility for that. At least, did you understand who you could have become for the country and the people after taking such steps? You even left the generals alone, your potential supporters, and how do you think you will answer them?
One more thing, Onik, you will end up in prison, and it will be those who you did not save the country from that will put you there. So, how else are you, Onik? By the way, during the war years, I posted Onik’s photo on my page. Informed people told me whether you know yourself to the necessary extent. Later it became clear that you didn’t. Meanwhile, there are people who communicate very warmly with him, as if nothing has happened.”
