VIDEO: Areas Belonging to Military Unit Transferred, What Damage Has Been Caused to the State?
Authorized officials of the Ministry of Defense have transferred various areas belonging to the Ministry's balance to several individuals, driven by personal interests and abusing their official positions. This information has been reported by the Armenian police.
It is noted that factual data on this matter have been obtained by the police's anti-corruption and economic crimes directorate.
It has been revealed that in January 2009, officials from the Ministry of Defense illegally transferred 'special purpose' properties located on the Yerevan highway in the Armash community of the Ararat province to affiliated individuals for 4 million and 2.5 million drams, while their market value was approximately 15 million and 11 million drams, respectively.
In turn, officials from the State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre, driven by group interests, issued certificates of ownership for the land plot in February 2009.
As a result of these irregularities, the state has suffered damages amounting to approximately 19 million 500 thousand drams. A criminal case has been initiated by the Main Criminal Police Department on October 22, which has been forwarded to the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
