Armenian National Team Finishes Third in Team Competition at European Youth Boxing Championship
The European Youth Boxing Championship has concluded in the city of Budva, Montenegro. The Armenian boxers finished the championship with yet another golden achievement. Yesterday, the 86 kg weight category champion was Henrik Jghrikyan, as reported by the Armenian Boxing Federation. Jghrikyan, who represents the sports school in Gyumri and trains under Karen Ghazaryan, achieved an impressive victory in the final against Czech opponent David Polak.
In total, the Armenian team finished the championship with two gold medals, two silver, and one bronze. Also claiming the championship was Henrik Sahakyan in the 51 kg weight category. Elida Kocharyan (60 kg) and Manvel Petrosyan (57 kg) won silver medals, while Erik Israelian (60 kg) secured a bronze medal.
As a result, our country secured third place in the team competition. The federation noted that this is an unprecedented achievement in the history of independent Armenia.
