VIDEO: It Was Not an Accidental Fire, It Was Arson - Vaik Police Investigation
On October 10, at 22:35, the emergency situations ministry's fire brigade in Vaik received a report that a haystack was burning in the village of Arin.
An operational group from the Vaik Police Department determined that as a result of the fire, 8,000 bundles of hay were completely burned and charred, 10 fruit trees were thermally damaged, and part of the barn's structural elements were burned, causing damages of over 14 million drams to the owner.
Materials prepared by the Investigative Department of Fire Safety and Technical Security of the Ministry of Emergency Situations revealed that the hay bundles were set on fire intentionally.
On October 12, a criminal case was initiated in the Vayots Dzor regional prosecutor's office based on the facts, and through operational-intelligence measures, Vaik detectives received credible information indicating that the arson was committed for personal motives by a 53-year-old woman, an employee of the owner's farm, who lives in the same village.
She has been presented to the Vayots Dzor regional investigative department, where she has provided a confession. The investigation is ongoing to clarify the circumstances.
