Chief of General Staff Meets with Head of ICRC Delegation
The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Lieutenant General Artak Davtyan, received Thierry Ribaux, the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in Armenia, on October 18.
This information was shared by the Public Relations and Information Department of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia. During the meeting, both sides highly appreciated the cooperation between the Armed Forces of Armenia and the ICRC in the country, outlining further steps aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of their collaboration. They discussed upcoming joint projects and new avenues of cooperation.
Particular attention was given to organizing training on international humanitarian law within the Armenian Armed Forces and implementing scientific-methodological sessions, with deadlines established.
Lieutenant General Artak Davtyan emphasized the important role of the ICRC in clarifying the fate of missing, captured servicemen, and civilians during the 44-day war of 2020. In turn, Thierry Ribaux noted that the delegation is doing its utmost within its powers to address this issue.
