Armenia is the only European country where three opposition MPs are illegally detained, and moreover, without the consent of the National Assembly. The U.S. ambassador and representatives of European countries remain resolutely silent on this matter.

This was stated by Aram Vardevanyan, a member of the "Armenia" parliamentary group, on his Facebook page, where he published a video from nine years ago in which the U.S. ambassador spoke about criminal prosecution against opposition MP Vardan Oskanian.

“The U.S. ambassador in Armenia spoke nine years ago about the criminal prosecution against opposition MP Vardan Oskanian, providing his specific assessments. The ambassador was not constrained by the term 'internal affairs of the state.' I remind you, Armenia is the only European country where three opposition MPs are illegally detained, and furthermore, without the consent of the National Assembly. And the U.S. ambassador, along with other European ambassadors, remains in decisive silence,” he wrote.
