Tensions Between Greece and Turkey Escalate
The 63rd round of preliminary negotiations between Greece and Turkey has taken place in Ankara. However, the Turkish government continues to escalate tensions, reports Kathimerini.
“The Blue Homeland is our red line; it is an inseparable part of our homeland,” stated Ömer Çelik, a representative of Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party, adding that “they will fight for the Blue Homeland and will pay any price.” He also urged Greece and Cyprus to abandon their maximalist stance in the Aegean Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean.
