Alen Simonian to Visit Moscow with a 20-Member Unipartisan Delegation
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that from October 3-6, National Assembly President Alen Simonian will make his first official visit to Russia at the invitation of Valentina Matviyenko, the Speaker of the Federation Council.
Notably, Simonian will not include any opposition members in a delegation of about 20 people, which will be exclusively a unipartisan delegation. Among the delegation members are two of Simonian's close business associates, Khachatur Sukiasyan and Gurgen Arsenyan. They will also be joined by Vladimir Vardanian, who recently observed elections in Moscow, Andranik Kocharian, Sisak Gabrielyan, Arthur Hovhannisyan, Arusyak Julhakyan, Tzovinar Vardanian, and representatives of his staff.
Regarding the absence of opposition members, the spokesperson for the President of the National Assembly, Tzovinar Khachatryan, stated: "Since this is an official visit, the National Assembly President was invited, and he himself decided on the composition of the delegation." It is noteworthy that the spokesperson is also included in the delegation.
