Charchyan's Condition Critical, Holding a Person in Detention Under Such Circumstances is Torture: Vardevanyan
Aram Vardevanyan, a member of the National Assembly from the "Armenia" faction, provided information about the health condition of fellow faction member and doctor Armen Charchyan during a conversation with journalists.
"According to medical norms, an insulin dosage over 60 implies a critical state. At this point, Armen Charchyan is receiving an insulin dosage over 100. The second factor is the pneumonia that has developed in Charchyan. If I try to make a comparison from my perspective, being under intensive medical supervision has led to certain stability, but the presence of pneumonia and such an insulin level indeed creates an extremely critical situation," said Aram Vardevanyan.
According to the parliament member, Charchyan is having difficulty speaking and communicating, which is why their meeting was brief. Vardevanyan also emphasized that the serious health issues Charchyan has create an incompatibility with detention. "His will, of course, is in place, but holding a person in detention under such conditions still amounts to torture, representing the destruction of any humanitarian value," he remarked.
