The State Says Let's Conduct Three-Month Exercises, and Everyone is Finding Ways to Avoid It: Hovhannisyan

Military expert Karen Hovhannisyan has written:

“And let no one complain, let there be no grumbling about foreigners... The government says it is reducing mandatory military service, and we shout: ‘Then who will defend us?’ The state says, ‘Come, let’s conduct three-month military exercises,’ and everyone is looking for ways to get a certificate to avoid it—to not learn how to handle weapons, to not learn how to cooperate with the army, so that later, during the war, 18-20-year-old boys won’t be exposed to danger. I want a semi-military country, where those who do not attend these exercises are caught and publicly shamed around the world, and taken to prison for several years... We must defend our country so that we do not invite others to defend us...”
