Seyran Ohanyan: Pashinyan Personally Summoned My Son for a Conversation at the Time of His Appointment as Commander
A criminal case has been initiated, and the investigative authorities have confirmed that such an incident does not exist. This was stated today, August 10, during a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly by Seyran Ohanyan, the leader of the "Armenia" faction, regarding allegations surrounding his son that he shot himself.
He also noted that during the 44-day military operations, his son served as the commander of a military unit and was injured. His assistant was also wounded, and two of his other nephews died, along with one of his assistants, a relative from Karin.
"If you clarify the circumstances of the events, he was at his command point, which was further from the front line, also during the movement of his unit. If he had been afraid, he would not have left his command point to go to the front line to support the units. Some say he injured himself in a tank without understanding that his unit is not a tank one, but rather mechanized infantry," said Ohanyan.
The leader of the "Armenia" faction emphasized that his son did not receive any support in obtaining high ranks during his service and has achieved promotion through his own efforts. "At the time of his appointment as the commander of the military unit, he was personally summoned for a conversation by Nikol Pashinyan. However, the appointment of a unit commander is not the Prime Minister's function. The conversation was as follows: given the known events, I have invited you to talk. As for what those known events are, I do not know. My son responded that he has served and will serve his homeland, and I can never deny my father," he added.
Ohanyan considers it unacceptable to exploit his son’s situation in the National Assembly, especially given that it is openly false that his son shot himself in the foot.
