Zahharova's Statement on Tensions at the Armenia-Azerbaijan Border
Russia expresses concern over any manifestation of tension at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. This was stated by the official spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, during a briefing today.
“Of course, we are concerned about any manifestations of escalation of tension in certain sections of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. And, of course, this has a very negative impact on the situation in the region and does not contribute to the resolution of dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia, leading to unjust losses among the populations of both countries,” Zakharova said.
She also expressed condolences regarding the death of an Armenian serviceman at the border, wishing a quick recovery to all affected during the conflict. According to Zakharova, Russia hopes that negotiations on delimitation between Azerbaijan and Armenia will start soon and is ready to provide support in this matter.
