Turkey is Now 'Looking' at Georgia and Azerbaijan, We Are Left Behind: What Does Armen Grigoryan's Appointment Have to Do with This?
Political analyst Suren Sargsyan wrote on his Facebook page: "Significant realignments are taking place in the region, while a global conversion is happening in Armenia. The ultimate goal of all this is to remove Russia from Armenia—and consequently from the region—and establish Turkey as the 'watcher' of the South Caucasus. No, the EU and the USA will not be looking at the region, but rather their ally, Turkey. Turkey is already 'looking' at Georgia (even though the revolution here occurred with the support of the USA and the EU) and Azerbaijan. We are left behind. Unlike Georgia and Ukraine, Russia does not share a common border with Armenia. This complicates Russia's situation while easing Turkey's. This is the global plan, and every small step is moving in this direction.
Grigoryan's conversion from Secretary of the Security Council to Foreign Minister perfectly aligns with the logic of regional developments. There is nothing surprising in this. He is a person who does not consider Turkey an enemy and holds anti-Russian views, for whom handing over his birthplace to Azerbaijan means little.
As for the regional transformations, I will elaborate on them later."
