WHO Declares Deteriorating COVID-19 Situation Worldwide
COVID-19 infections are rising globally for the fourth consecutive week. This was announced during a briefing by the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, as reported by the RIA Novosti agency.
“In addition, after ten weeks of decline, mortality has also increased,” Ghebreyesus added. The WHO chief emphasized that there is currently a worsening situation regarding coronavirus infections worldwide. “This poses an even greater threat to human life and the global economy,” Ghebreyesus noted.
He also admitted that regions facing vaccine shortages are causing the greatest concern among healthcare professionals.
