Second Earthquake Registered Near Elpin Village in Vayots Dzor Region
On July 11, at 15:27 local time (11:27 GMT), the seismic network of the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations registered an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.8. The epicenter was located at geographical coordinates 39.72° N latitude and 45.20° E longitude, in the Armenia-Nakhichevan border area, 12 km southeast of Elpin village in the Vayots Dzor region, at a depth of 10 km.
The intensity of the earthquake in the epicentral zone was measured at 3-4 on the Richter scale. The tremors were felt in the villages of Rind, Elpin, Chiva, and Areni in Vayots Dzor province with an intensity of 3.
