Azeri MPs Make Obvious Territorial Claims Over Armenia's Sovereign Territory, Tatevik Hayrapetyan

Yesterday, a heated discussion took place in the Azerbaijani parliament regarding the Syunik region of the Republic of Armenia/Zangezur. This was reported by MP Tatevik Hayrapetyan.

“Azeri MPs have made clear territorial claims over the sovereign territory of Armenia, describing it as 'historical Azerbaijani land.' They stated, ‘We demand our historical lands and we are right to do so; those territories should be joined to Azerbaijan in the near future.’ This absurd discussion concluded with the statement from the deputy speaker of the Milli Majlis that ‘this issue is no less important than the issue of Karabakh.’”
