I Will Never Apologize for My Wrongdoings. Armen Charchyan's Wife Reads Her Husband's Message

Today, at the first general assembly of the 'Hayastan' alliance, the director of the Izmirlian Medical Center, Armen Charchyan's wife, Melanya Hovhannisyan, read her husband's message.

'I am addressing my message from behind bars. The charges against me are incomprehensible and absolutely unacceptable. It is clear that I am being persecuted for actions I did not commit, and in that case, I cannot repent in any way. I have always acknowledged my mistakes and will continue to do so, but I will never apologize for my wrongdoings,' stated the professor.

Charchyan noted that entering the political struggle was a civic duty.

'Seeing the miserable state of the homeland, the sharp increase in socially vulnerable individuals, and the general depression, I wanted to contribute to the process of restoring the homeland. Therefore, I was forced to leave my comfortable and respected job, fully aware of the expected consequences, and join the political team of the 'Hayastan' alliance, which embraces the same ideals. Objectively assessing the team's ideas, programs, and human resources, I am convinced that 'Hayastan' is the force capable of realizing the country's recovery and can lead the country out of this catastrophe. Although my health is somewhat weakened at the moment, my mind is clear, and my will and spirit are strong. Especially when I constantly feel the support of my teammates behind me, I am well, I am strong,' added the director of the Izmirlian Medical Center.

In his message, he wrote that throughout his conscious life, he has fought against the most brutal and relentless enemies—death and illness.

'In the overwhelming majority of cases, I have won; I have never surrendered, nor have I betrayed my beliefs and ideals. I have not despaired or lost hope. Even now, I am ready to fight alongside my political team and like-minded individuals for a strong, healthy, educated, cultured, working, and harmonious Armenia. Together with my powerful team, we will build a secure, dignified, and prosperous Armenia. Our ideas are patriotic and beneficial for the homeland, and our faith is unwavering and unquestionable,' concluded Charchyan.
