Residents of Victory Neighborhood in Malatia-Sebastia District Alarmed Over Water Shortage During Summer Heat
Residents of the Victory neighborhood in the Malatia-Sebastia district are raising alarms about being deprived of water for days during the summer heat, while the sporadic water flow from taps is not only scarce but also of poor quality and potentially dangerous.
“No water supply network has been built or upgraded for years,” residents participating in a protest told Panorama.am.
The residents suggested that employees of Veolia Water and the head of the local area drink from the water supplied to residents of Victory. “We have children; my grandchild is one and a half years old. I can’t give him tap water. Look, I bought a water purifier and set it up at home,” one of the residents stated, emphasizing that they pay their bills punctually but receive no adequate service in return.
Even after reaching out to the Veolia Water company and municipal officials, the issue remains unresolved. “If the problem is not addressed, we will join forces and bring them here. Every day we will make them drink this water so they can feel firsthand how we live,” another resident expressed.
