The Armenia Alliance Issues a Statement
The Armenia Alliance has issued a statement, which we present below.
“Dear compatriots,
Yesterday, the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Armenia applied a warning against the 'Civil Contract' and Nikol Pashinyan for violating the rules of the day of silence. It is essential to note that this measure of accountability has only been applied to that party during the pre-election campaign.
We also inform you that since yesterday, offensive and hateful materials regarding the leaders of the Armenia Alliance have begun to be distributed in large numbers at various locations. According to our information, this disgraceful process has been organized particularly by Soros-affiliated organizations with the tolerance of the outgoing authorities.
Furthermore, during the same period, posters of the 'Republic' party have been placed in clear violation of the law.
We have also received information that members of the territorial staffs of the Armenia Alliance are being detained based on false reports. There are reasonable suspicions that these reports are particularly organized by Soros-affiliated organizations.
There have never been such widespread violations of electoral processes in the history of Armenia, and we call for the attention of all international monitoring missions to these ongoing violations.
We appeal to the police to identify and detain those who prepare, distribute, and commission materials containing insults and hatred against the leaders of the Armenia Alliance within a short timeframe, even within a few hours, especially since there are corresponding videos available on the internet.
Otherwise, we will assess that this process is organized and directed by the authorities.”
