The Pre-Election Television Debate Has Begun: Who Is Not Participating?
The final pre-election television debate titled "Armenia Chooses" has started, inviting the top candidates from 13 political forces participating in the elections. However, as previously announced, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Robert Kocharyan, and Arthur Vanetsyan have declined to participate in the debate.
The "Free Homeland" party is also absent, as the Public Television has rejected the participation of the coalition's prime ministerial candidate, Andrias Ghukasian (who is not the first on the list). Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, also did not attend the debate.
Currently, the Public Television studio is hosting the candidates of the ruling party: Nikol Pashinyan, the prime ministerial candidate from the Civil Contract party, Edmond Marukyan, the first candidate from the Bright Armenia party, Aram Sargsyan, the leader of the Republic party, Karin Tonoyan, the leader of the "5165" movement, Artak Galstyan, the first candidate from the Homeland party, and Hrant Bagratyan from the Freedom party.
