Alen Simonian, the Vice Speaker of the National Assembly, made this statement today, June 15, during a campaign event in the Syunik region while speaking with NEWS.am, referring to the conversation between Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Suren Papikyan and the Mayor of Ejmiadzin, Diana Gasparyan. In that recording, Gasparyan mentioned that Nikol Pashinyan should leave because he is unable to cope with the pressure.

“Frankly, it’s a horrifying topic—both the party that released the recording and the topic itself. No one is interested in this topic, it’s only of interest to those who spread it. Whoever is interested, let them be interested; we are not concerned with it at all, we haven’t even discussed it,” he said.

When asked if he had spoken with Diana Gasparyan regarding this topic, Alen Simonian replied, “Diana Gasparyan was with us on the march yesterday.”
