New Details on the Upcoming Putin-Biden Meeting

The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Joe Biden will cover a range of topics, including issues related to Ukraine, Belarus, and Alexei Navalny. This information comes from RIA Novosti, which cites an assistant to the Russian President.

According to the assistant, the heads of state will also discuss matters concerning strategic stability, the pandemic, combating cybercrime, economic cooperation, and climate change. The agenda will also include conflict issues in Ukraine, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, and, of course, Nagorno-Karabakh.

Putin and Biden will address the detention of Russians in third countries, the operations of diplomatic missions, and general issues regarding U.S.-Russia relations. It has been noted that if both presidents agree, the ambassadors of the two countries may return to Moscow and Washington.

The Russian president's assistant added that both sides may discuss any topics not previously agreed upon, which could include the situation in Belarus and the topic of Alexei Navalny.

It should be reminded that Biden and Putin will meet on June 16 in Geneva. This will mark Biden's first in-person meeting since taking office.

Interestingly, Putin's visit to Geneva will be his first foreign trip since July 2020.
