Putin and Biden Will Not Hold Joint Press Conference, CNN Reports

Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Joe Biden will not hold a joint press conference following their upcoming meeting in Geneva, CNN reports.

This information was shared by two American officials involved in the preparatory work, who noted that the agenda for this important meeting is still not finalized, and negotiations with the Russian side are ongoing.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov informed CNN that there has not yet been a decision regarding a joint press conference for the two presidents.

The source points out that three years ago, Putin and former U.S. President Donald Trump held a joint press conference after their meeting.

Recently, Biden announced that during his meeting with President Putin in Geneva on June 16, he would remind him that “America is back.” During a meeting with military personnel at a U.S. military base in the UK, Biden indicated that he had begun his first overseas trip, which would also include a meeting with the Russian president.

“I will also meet with Putin to convey what I want to convey,” Biden said amid applause from the military personnel, adding that during his trip, he would remind everyone, including the Russian president, that “the U.S. is back.”

“We are prepared to make it clear that the United States is back, and democracies must work together to solve the most difficult problems and challenges that threaten our future,” the White House leader added.
