The Situation from Sotk to Khoznavar is Due to the General Staff Being Turned into a Political Discussion Office, Says Acting Prime Minister of Armenia
The situation from Sotk to Khoznavar is due to the fact that some were not focused on protecting our borders, but had turned the General Staff into a political discussion office. This was stated by Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a meeting with local residents in Vanadzor, addressing the situation at the border.
“After the war, my first order to the Chief of the General Staff was to work day and night on the arrangement of the new border area. But every time, I have seen that the Chief of the General Staff and his deputy are engaged in politics instead of their work, dealing with Serj, Robert, or some other political party. On February 25, they even called for my resignation,” said Pashinyan.
He noted that since that time, he had warned the president that we were facing security issues. However, according to him, it took a full 1.5 months to dismiss the Chief of the General Staff and his deputy and appoint new ones. “What were they thinking at that time, whether to sign or not? Were they not considering who would be dealing with the borders?” questioned the acting Prime Minister.
