ECHR Considers Application Concerning 6 Armenian Soldiers Captured by Azerbaijan
The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) is examining an application from Armenia regarding the fundamental rights of six Armenian soldiers captured by Azerbaijan. According to a spokesperson from the Strasbourg court who spoke to TASS, "Such a request has been submitted to the court, and it is currently under consideration. At this point, we cannot provide further details."
It is important to note that the Republic of Armenia has approached the ECHR demanding the protection of the fundamental rights of the six captured Armenian soldiers.
Recall that on the morning of May 27, during engineering work at the deployment area of the Armenian Armed Forces' N military unit in the Gegharkunik region, six servicemen were surrounded and captured by Azerbaijani armed forces.
