Women of the Prosperous Armenia Party in Shock, Especially Naira Zohrabyan, Whose Name May Not Be on the List at All: 'Hraparak'
'Hraparak' newspaper reports: The Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) had decided to unveil its electoral list on May 25, a day before submitting it to the Central Electoral Commission; however, the intrigue within the team led them to disclose the first three names: Gagik Tsarukyan, Mikayel Melkumyan, and Iveta Tonoyan. The women of the BHK are in shock, especially Naira Zohrabyan, whose name may not even be on the list.
Besides Zohrabyan, the list may also exclude Tsarukyan's closest ally, his bodyguard chief Edward Babayan. Last summer, when Gagik Tsarukyan was imprisoned, Nikol Pashinyan sent a messenger through the Speaker of the National Assembly, offering that about a dozen BHK deputies relinquish their mandates, promising to halt the prosecution of Tsarukyan in such a case. Names such as Edward Babayan, Naira Zohrabyan, Tsarukyan's son-in-law Davit Manukyan, former mayor of Gyumri Vardan Ghukasyan, and Gevorg Petrosyan were even mentioned in the press. The authorities' demand was not met.
Today, Tsarukyan has conveyed to those who are likely to be excluded that they should not panic, assuring them that they will not be left unemployed or without money. He is also planning to meet with them to clarify their positions regarding their futures.
