Urgent Surgical Solution Needed for the Country: Tigran Abrahamyan
Tigran Abrahamyan, head of the Henaket analytical center, wrote on his Facebook page: "Regarding the current situation surrounding the army— the well-known humiliating video, the defenseless border, and the undeniable fact of certain high-ranking military officials serving the government— the first thought that has arisen for many is that the Minister of Defense and the Chief of the Armed Forces should be removed immediately. Some even mentioned the idea of them committing suicide. In short, there are plenty of options. However, I have two reservations that must certainly be considered.
What will change if Arman Sargsyan, the former police deputy head, is appointed instead of Vagharshak Harutyunyan, or if Arshak Karapetyan, who performed minor services for Pashinyan and failed in his field during the April war, takes over from Artak Davtyan? Nothing. The situation may get worse, but it will certainly not improve. The problem is not so much with today's military leadership as it is with the political elite and personally with Nikol Pashinyan. Until Pashinyan leaves his post, the performance of others—be it slightly better or worse—does not solve the problem. You can appoint the most experienced, knowledgeable commander as the Chief of Staff or Minister of Defense, but if the current political course continues, then the collapses we witness every day will continue as well.
Therefore, the solution to all problems, especially security issues, lies in the removal of this government. No matter what path we take, the country needs an urgent surgical solution."
