Peskov Responds to Question About Putin-Biden Meeting
There is no final agreement on the venue for the Russia-U.S. summit; appropriate announcements will follow if and when it takes place. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had reported that there is still no final agreement on holding a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Joe Biden. However, if such an agreement is reached, the summit could take place in one of the "European diplomatic capitals." According to sources from RIA Novosti, the upcoming summit could be held in Geneva if Russia agrees.
"I still have nothing to report on this topic. I suggest not to make guesses based on coffee grounds. As soon as and if a final agreement is reached, we will provide the appropriate announcement," Peskov said in response to journalists' questions about whether the parties are indeed considering Switzerland for the summit, as reported by RIA Novosti.
