EU Makes Important Statement on Prisoner Issues, Says Pashinyan
The issue of captured citizens is the most painful problem for all of us. This was stated today, April 29, by the Acting Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, during a government meeting.
“Azerbaijan is not fulfilling its obligations, and we can state that this fact has now become a matter of international agenda. Yesterday, the European Union issued a very important statement, which specifies that Azerbaijan must return all captured individuals, regardless of the specific circumstances of their capture,” he said.
Pashinyan emphasized that this statement references the processes taking place in the European Court of Human Rights, which adds a legal component to the political statement. “Recently, international activity regarding the issues of captured individuals has been very important and increases optimism that we will see concrete results on this matter. We need to be as patient and persistent as possible, and this issue must definitely receive a positive solution,” he added.
