23-Year-Old Driver of Overturned Paver Was a Participant in the Last Artsakh War: Details
On April 29, a tragic incident occurred in the Shirak region. According to SHAMSHYAN.com, at about 19:20, 23-year-old Arman Antonyan, a resident of Maralik, rolled over approximately 5 meters with a 13-ton asphalt levelling machine (paver) while performing asphalt works at the 89th kilometer section of the newly constructed 'North-South' road on the Yerevan-Gyumri highway, under still unclear circumstances, and ended up on the traffic lane of the road.
As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan from the scene, A. Antonyan died on the spot. Emergency rescue workers from the Shirak regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, traffic police inspectors serving in the area, and citizens removed his body from the cargo compartment. Special equipment was used by local road construction workers to retrieve the body.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 157, part 2 of the RA Criminal Code (violation of safety rules leading to the death of a person) by decision of N. Gareginian.
Those gathered at the scene stated that the deceased had been an active participant in the last Artsakh war, fighting alongside his comrades against mercenaries on the front lines and holding the frontline entrusted to him steadfastly.
