UEFA President: "Everyone Must Answer for Their Actions"

The European Super League project entailed the creation of a single league where the top 20 clubs in Europe would compete. Among the high-profile clubs that confirmed their participation in the Super League were AC Milan, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Tottenham. However, facing negative backlash from football federations and associations, as well as threats of sanctions from UEFA and FIFA, the clubs began to withdraw from the tournament.

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin has stated that clubs entering the European Super League will face sanctions. “Everyone must answer for their actions. We cannot pretend that nothing has happened. You cannot do such a thing and then say, ‘I was punished because everyone hates me.’ All their problems are the result of their actions. We will decide what to do in the near future,” said Ceferin, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
