The Football Federation of Armenia and its President Armen Melikbekyan Sue Edmon Marukyan
The Football Federation of Armenia and its President Armen Melikbekyan have filed a lawsuit against Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the 'Enlightened Armenia' faction in the National Assembly of Armenia. This information was reported by the Judicial Information System.
The lawsuit was filed on April 15 and assigned to the judge Lilit Sargsyan of the Yerevan City Court of General Jurisdiction. Melikbekyan and the Federation are demanding the public refutation of the unsubstantiated factual statements containing defamation, as well as the compensation for non-material damages caused to their honor, dignity, and business reputation.
It is noteworthy that on March 17, Marukyan had referred to the decision of the 'Lori' football club to leave the Armenian championship during a Facebook live broadcast. He pointed out that illegal actions were occurring at the level of the Football Federation regarding the 'Lori' club. Marukyan claimed that the individuals introduced by this government in all sectors are behaving in a disgraceful manner.
