Iran Begins Fourth Wave of Coronavirus
The President of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, has announced the start of a new, fourth wave of coronavirus in the country. He noted that the spread of the virus has been recorded in two provinces. However, the politician did not clarify which regions are experiencing the fourth wave of COVID-19.
“Unfortunately, the fourth wave has begun in two provinces, and it may start in several other provinces if we do not adhere to anti-epidemic regulations,” said Rouhani.
It has been reported that there is an increase in cases of infection with the new variant of the coronavirus in Iran. On Thursday, April 1st, over 11,000 people tested positive for the coronavirus, a record high since December 2020.
As of April 2, the total number of infections reached 1,908,974, with the death toll at 62,876. Earlier, it was reported that Iranian manufacturers may release the Sputnik V vaccine to the market by the end of April.
