What Will Nikol Pashinyan Do Regarding Robert Kocharyan and Others
According to the "Fact" newspaper, "In connection with the Constitutional Court’s well-known decision regarding Article 300.1 of the RA Criminal Code, almost everyone was confident that Nikol Pashinyan would not hide his anger and dissatisfaction and would certainly express himself. And now, in Armavir Province, he stated that 'we must read the decision to see what is written in it in order to make decisions regarding the future.' Many believe that with this statement, Pashinyan admits that the March 1 case is purely political and is guided by the current authorities, because, after all, what business does the Prime Minister of the country have with making decisions regarding any criminal case?
"The person occupying the position of the Prime Minister has never hidden and does not hide that after coming to power he is simply fabricating cases, doing what is beneficial for him while disregarding both the laws and the Constitution. After coming to power, he said, 'the March 1 case is revealed for us.' But even after it was blatantly disgraced, without shame, he continues to make statements within the same logic, which is not surprising. He openly shows that he will not take a step back, and that new cases will be fabricated to keep Robert Kocharyan and former officials involved in the March 1 case in their opinion, 'in fear and terror,'" said political scientist Gagik Hambaryan in an interview with "Fact".
Co-founder of the NGO "Legal Path" Ruben Melikyan also believes that the entire process around the Constitutional Court was related to this case: "If they want to read, let them read. Basically, that reading can only elevate the legal consciousness of certain individuals, although I believe that for representatives of 'My Step' it is already somewhat late. On the other hand, I think it is much more expressive that figures oriented towards Soros have claims regarding the procedures for selecting Constitutional Court judges. And it can be directly concluded from those claims that the entire process of dismissing three Constitutional Court judges and disbanding the CC was conditioned by that very case and the desire to make a favorable decision regarding that case," said Melikyan.
