Access Roads in Armenia Closed and Impassable, Ministry of Emergency Situations Reports
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed and impassable roads in the territory of Armenia.
The roads from the "Amberd" high-mountain meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to the Amberd Fortress and to the Kari Lake are closed, as well as the Berd-Jambarak road.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks with trailers and is impassable for other vehicles.
In Tavush Province, the curves of Dilijan and Noyemberyan are impassable for trucks with trailers. There are places where there is black ice on the roads in Aragatsotn and Shirak Provinces, as well as on the Zangakatun-Lanjarr-Tigranashen road in Ararat Province and the Goris-Sisian road in Syunik Province, in the area referred to as "Zanger."
According to information from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations' Crisis Management Center in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed. Approximately 632 trucks are stranded on the Russian side.
Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
