Turkey's Arms Exports Increased by 30% in the Last 5 Years
Turkey's defense industry continues to maintain a dominant position in arms exports. This was reported by Ermenihaber.am.
According to statistics presented by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, arms exports from Turkey increased by 30% from 2016 to 2020 compared to 2011-2015.
Significantly, there has been a sharp decline in the acquisition of weapons from other countries. Imports have decreased by 59%.
Turkey, which places great importance on domestic arms production, ranked 14th in the world in terms of arms exports from 2015 to 2019, but has moved up one position to 13th from 2016 to 2020.
In contrast, Turkey's ranking in arms imports has dropped from 15th to 20th place.
