Pashinyan May Submit His Resignation on March 8: Edmon Marukyan
Leader of the LHK parliamentary group Edmon Marukyan wrote on his Facebook page: “If Pashinyan agrees to our proposal, which is to refrain from making changes in the General Staff and not to deviate from the agenda of snap elections, then, with the agreement not to nominate any candidate for the position of prime minister in parliament, he may submit his resignation on March 8. From that moment, within 14 days, a new prime minister will not be elected, and the parliament will be considered dissolved by virtue of law.
According to Article 92 of the Constitution, snap parliamentary elections will take place within 30-45 days after the dissolution of the parliament. This means that April 25 will be the earliest date when snap parliamentary elections can be held. We need elections as soon as possible to establish peace, stability, and a new quality of governance in the country. In this situation, refusing to agree to the proposal and delaying the holding of snap elections for various reasons is unacceptable for us.”
