Four Individuals Arrested on Suspicion of Being a Facebook Fake Account of 'Gagik Soghomonyan', Arrest Decision Challenged

Four individuals were arrested yesterday, February 20, on suspicion of being a Facebook fake account of 'Gagik Soghomonyan' in the National Security Service of Armenia.

Among those arrested were former head of the National Assembly staff Ara Sagatelyan, co-founder and analyst of 'Qaryak Media' Karen Bekaryan, and Mher Avagyan. The fourth individual is citizen Aram Sargsyan, whose lawyer Benik Galstyan announced on his Facebook page that the lawfulness of the arrest has been challenged in court.

Ara Sagatelyan's lawyer Hakob Yenokyan told 'Pastinfo' that the investigative body aims to pursue the matter by applying for detention before the legality of the arrest is discussed, in order to increase the likelihood of keeping them in custody.

Yenokyan informed us that there can be no factual data, as the suspicion is absurd.
