Zaritapa Monument to Victims of the Great Patriotic War Vandalized
On February 13, an extraordinary incident occurred in the Vayots Dzor province. According to Shamshyan.com, an unidentified individual or individuals damaged the monument dedicated to the victims of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) located in the administrative territory of the Zaritapa community, by tearing off and vandalizing the metal star affixed to the stone, which also resulted in damage to the monument itself.
In connection with the incident, materials are being prepared at the Vayk division of the Police. The police are taking necessary measures to identify the perpetrator or perpetrators.
Note: The suspect or accused in the alleged crime is considered innocent until proven guilty by law in accordance with the procedures established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, through a legally binding court decision.
