Strong Earthquake in Yerevan

A few moments ago, an earthquake occurred in Yerevan. The strong underground tremors lasted for several seconds and were felt even in the center of the city.

At 15:30, tremors lasting several seconds were recorded in the capital. People have gone out into the streets. At this moment, there is no official information on what caused the tremor.

The Mediterranean Seismological Center's website reports that the epicenter of the earthquake is located 12 km south of Yerevan. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 2 km with a magnitude of 4.7. According to preliminary estimates, the tremor exceeded a magnitude of 5 in Yerevan.
