Azerbaijan's Defence Minister Zakir Hasanov Travels to Turkey to Monitor Kars Exercises
Under the invitation of Turkey's Minister of Defence Hulusi Akar, Azerbaijan's Defence Minister Zakir Hasanov has travelled to Turkey, according to a statement from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence.
The report indicates that Hasanov will observe the final phase of the "Winter-2021" joint military exercises taking place in the city of Kars, Turkey.
As previously reported, Turkey and Azerbaijan are conducting the "Winter-2021" joint exercises from February 1 to 12 in Kars. These exercises involve tank and artillery units, helicopters, as well as special forces units.
According to the official statement from Turkey’s Ministry of Defence, the aim of the operations is to ensure cooperation and coordination during joint operations, as well as to verify the operational readiness of weapons and vehicles.
