Rustam Badasyan Discusses Martial Law
The preservation of neither martial law nor a state of emergency can be an end in itself, stated Armenia's Minister of Justice, Rustam Badasyan, during a Q&A session with the Government in response to a question from Arkadi Khachaturyan, a member of the 'Enlightened Armenia' faction.
“Even today, the questions raised in the National Assembly, if we pay attention, pertain to the security environment, issues related to the security context, and the matter is within the purview of the corresponding authorized body. From the moment the grounds for maintaining martial law disappear in connection with the security environment, the Government will immediately lift martial law. There is no political subtext here,” the minister added.
