There Are Closed and Impassable Roads in Armenia
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed and impassable roads in the territory of Armenia. The Vardenyats Pass is difficult to traverse for trucks with trailers, but is open for all other vehicles. The roads from the 'Amberd' high mountainous meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to the Amberd Fortress and to the Kary Lake are closed.
There are areas of black ice on the roads in the Gegharkunik region and on the Vardenyats Pass.
Regarding Lars, according to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia's Emergency Situations Department and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all vehicles; however, there are about 405 trapped trucks on the Russian side. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
